Veteran director Maniratnam's Kadal seems to have undergone another casting change in the recent past. After roping in Thulasi, Radha's younger daughter, for Kadal Mani dropped her to bring Samantha in because he thought the latter would be apt for the role.


Under these circumstances, sources close to the director claim that Thulasi has been brought back to the film and Samantha, given an elbow. Mani met with Thulasi's parents - Radha and her husband - and Thulasi has been reinducted in the film that stars Karthik's son Gautham in the lead.
