Vikram in 19th Step?

A few days back, it was speculated that Vikram might be roped in for 19th Step, directed by Bharat Bala. Now, unconfirmed reports indicate that a meeting did take place between the star and the director, so this rumour could well come true. Vikram is truly excited that his Kanthaswamy will be released soon. He is also working on Raavan with ace director Mani Ratnam.
There have been no press meets or major announcements regarding this, but it is believed that director Bharat Bala is doing deep research on the topic and does not want any controversies, especially with a period film. He is consulting with writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair and wants to make it as authentic as he can!
Bharat Bala is credited with the success of Vande Mataram music videos which he filmed during India's 50th year of Independence. 19th Step will have A.R. Rahman teaming up with Bharat Bala once again after several years!
19th Step is produced by Walt Disney Productions, and has Asin and Tadanobu Asano in lead roles. Kamal Haasan is also said to be in the cast, but there has been no confirmation yet. Has Kamal opted out of the project? Is he teaming up with Murugadoss for a Bollywood flick? These are some questions that keep lingering!

Shriya not a part of Marmayogi

Shriya Saran, who was in Chennai for a brief period, denied that she was a part of Marmayogi, Kamal Haasan’s next project. She said, “I was very surprised to read in the papers that I was approached for a part of Marmayogi. It is not true but if any such opportunity arises, I will be the happiest person.”

At present the pretty actor is very busy with a handful of projects. Shriya is shooting for Kanthasamy with Vikram in Mexico. She is all set to act as Sharath Kumar’s daughter in Jagubhai, directed by KS Ravikumar. She is also pairing once again with Dhanush with the Polladhavan team. Vettri Maran is currently coming up with a story that is expected to have slick and compelling story. Besides this, she is also doing two projects in Hollywood and the Hindi film Mission Istaanbul that is expected to release by the month-end.
The two Hollywood projects that Shriya has been part of have reportedly shaped up very well. The Other End Of The Line, produced by Ashok Amritraj, has the actor playing a call-centre employee who falls in love with a customer just by listening to his voice. The other English film she is working on is Deepa Mehta’s What’s Cooking wherein she will share screen space with Seema Biswas and Lisa Ray.

“I’ve not been approached for Marmayogi”: Shriya

On Monday (July 7) Shriya was in Chennai for a day for the photo shoot of her new K.S Ravi Kumar film. In the film she plays Sharat Kumar's daughter, and has a very meaty role.

Shriya denied that she is doing Kamal Hassan's Marmayogi. Confessed, the pretty actress: "To be honest, it would be an irresistible offer, to do a Kamal Hassan film. But the truth is that neither he nor anybody from the production team has approached me to do the film. I have no idea how this news got splashed in the national media." And if the offer comes the actress says that she will take a call on it at that time.

Anyway she is happy the way Kanthasamy is shaping up and says she had "a whale of a time shooting for the film in Mexico". Next in the pipeline is the Vetrimaran film with Dhanush, which will start rolling some time by the end of the year.

Now she is eagerly looking forward to her Hindi release Mission Istanbul, which should be out by the end of the month. Shriya says she will divide her time between Kollywood, Bollywood and Hollywood where her- The Other End Of the Line and What's Cooking are ready for release.

Shriya surely is on the go and really enjoying best of all worlds.

Shriya in Marmayogi?

Although her Sivaji stardom couldn’t be sustained after the release of her subsequent box office duds, Shriya seems to be still in demand. She just finished working for Ashok Amirthraj’s crossover Hollywood movie and has Vikram’s Kanthasamy and K S R’s film to her credit in Tamil.

To top it all, there are rumors in Kodambakkam that she is likely to be a part of Kamal’s ambitious venture Marmayogi. A few tabloids even mentioned that Shriya would make an official announcement in this regard. However, when contacted by a Behindwoods correspondent, the actor’s publicist stated that nothing has been confirmed in this regard.

More updates awaited.
