EROS pins hope on YUVRAAJ!
Trade buzz has it that Subhash Ghai's companies, Mukta Arts Ltd and Mukta Searchlight Films, struck a three film deal with EROS International for around 75 crores. Of the three films, BOMBAY TO BANGKOK and BLACK & WHITE, both under Mukta Searchlight Films, have already released.
While the Nagesh Kukunoor directed BOMBAY TO BANGKOK is a total washout, the Subhash Ghai directed 7-8 crores, BLACK & WHITE may at best turn out to be a coverage film for EROS. It now appears that EROS will have to wait for Ghai's trump card, YUVRAAJ (Mukta Arts Ltd), starring Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Zayed Khan and Katrina Kaif, to strike gold.
For those who are interested in numbers, if the price of Rs. 75 crore were to be apportioned between the above three mentioned films, a fair distribution would be 7.5 crore for BOMBAY TO BANGKOK, Rs. 12.5 crore for BLACK & WHITE and the remaining Rs.55 crore for YUVRAAJ. And that inclusive of both the theatrical and non theatrical rights.
Well, those lucky few who have seen the rush prints of YUVRAAJ tell us that Ghai's confidence in the Diwali release is very much justified.
