Big B’s Alladin postoponed due to Aamir’s Ghajini?
It is said that when Amitabh Bachchan enters the scene everyone in the industry makes way for him. But not this time! The release of Big B starrer Alladin has been delayed and the reason cited is Aamir Khan’s Ghajini.
AB plays the role of a genie in Sujoy ghosh’s Alladin and it is said that the film aims at children. The shooting of the film has also been complete and they were planning to release the film in Christmas which is the right time for the target audience. But ever since Aamir Khan rescheduled the release date of his film Ghajini because of his illness the makers of Alladin has no choice but to delay the release to February.
However Sujoy has a different version to narrate. “Mr. Bachchan has no competition and we are not worried. We are yet to finish a promotional song with Mr. Bachchan and since he was busy with The Unforgettables we could not manage to do so. The film also targets the kids and we needed an appropriate release. We had to reschedule the shooting dates and hence the delay.”

Unification of the Superstars

For the past two years or so everyone has had something to say about the feuds of Bollywood. Shahrukh vs. Amitabh Bachchan was everyone’s favorite. The media was perennially busy looking into the various facets of the so called cold war between two of the most powerful figures of Bollywood. The latest high point in this cold war series was the blog that the Big B had posted comparing the TRP ratings of Kaun Banega Crorepati under him and SRK. Talking of blogging reminds us of the infamous Aamir Khan blog of a pup named Shahrukh. Aamir Khan vs. Shahrukh Khan has been second only to the Big B-SRK rivalry in scale and popularity.
Meanwhile, the stars who have been made the main players in this rivalry drama have been repeatedly denying the existence of any such rift. They are, in their own words, ‘very good friends’. Well, come this weekend and they will have a chance to prove that their claims are right by appearing together at an event. One wonders what event could bring all of them together when even the IIFA failed to do so. The event is the premiere of Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa, the debut vehicle of Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan.
Reports are that Aamir Khan has left no stone unturned to ensure that the premiere is a star studded affair. The list of invitees include apart from many leading figures of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. We don’t know as yet whether this dream get-together will happen but it is heartening to see an effort being made and that too by Aamir who is generally considered a bit skeptical about big functions which he had reiterated with the very simple audio release of his movies. Amitabh, SRK and Aamir have had goes at each other in the recent past; at least the media has interpreted various things that way. Let’s see whether the hatchet can be buried.
The biggest surprise is that there are reports of an official invite for the premiere also being sent to Superstar Rajinikanth. If he turns up too then it will be nothing short of a dream come true.

Ash gets the highest ever salary!

Aishwarya Rai is very much a part of Shankar’s Rajinikanth dream project Robot, being produced by Ayngaran International.
Sources close to the deal said that last week the actress finally signed on the dotted line.
She was reportedly paid a whopping advance amount for the film.
Aishwarya is rumoured to be getting Rs 6 Crore to be the heroine of Robot. This is said to be the highest ever salary paid to an actress for an Indian film.
She has agreed to give bulk dates for the film as and when required.
As per original plans, Shankar was supposed to start the film in the first week of June. Due to various hitches, the shooting of the film will start now only in the last week of August after a low key ‘pooja’ in Chennai.
The dates have now become very convenient for Ash. She had kept the entire month of July and August for the Bachchan’s “Unforgettable World Tour”, a series of shows across continents organised by Wizcraft and starring the Bachchans (Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya) along with a host of stars.
After Aishwarya finishes her world tour, it will be time to start Robot. As of now Shankar is said to be planning to start the shoot with a song to be picturised across the world. So Ash once again goes around the world with the one and only superstar!

Big B to share screen with Rekha again

'Marmayogi' may be yet another dream project of Kamal Hassan, but it will also be a dream realisation for all those film lovers who wished to see Amitabh Bachchan sharing the screen with one of his best co stars Rekha.
The film also has Kajol in an important role.
In the 1970's the pair of Big B and the ever graceful Rekha was considered as one of the best screen couples that India has ever seen and the chemistry between them and their filmy romance turned out to be just like an epitome of passionate burning love for the youth of that time.
No one thought that after the sensational super hit film 'Silsila' this screen couple will never come together again.
All these years the vintage hot pair have never been seen together in public functions or for film awards but the media never got even a word out of their mouth which could hurt the feelings of each other.
Rekha has even admitted in a Television interview about the way Amitabh influenced her life and how she has learnt a lot from him and Big B recently told a newspaper that he would be interested in acting with Rekha again if an appropriate role is offered to him.
What more than 'Marmayogi' can be the right vehicle for recreating the magic of this golden pair of Hindi Cinema and show to the younger generation of actors that for some couples growing old have only increased the magic.
'Marmayogi' is a period film produced by Walt Disney.

Mani's next - story revealed!
Mani Ratnam’s newest film project returns to a territory he is master of: a simple, deep love story beautifully and impeccably told in the way only this maestro can. Think Alaipaiyuthey, except the couple is now negotiating married life amidst the frantic pace of modern life. Will the story also perhaps deal with how contemporary couples balance careers with marriage and family? There is something doubly interesting about this project – the stars that will play this couple are Abishek and Ash. The glittering echo between the fictional and the real couple is obvious, adding to the buzz.
It’s nice to have Mani Ratnam come back from larger than life stories like Guru to doing something more intimate, feel-good, lyrical and romantic. And where there’s Mani there’s always that other maestro, A.R.Rahman. Taking a cue from the story and theme of this yet untitled movie, the model for Rahman’s songs could well be Alaipaiyuthey. Richly lyrical romantic ballads, intoxicatingly choreographed and shot. Which brings us to the cinematographer – rumour has it that Mani is most likely going to bring his veteran cameraman in - P.C. Sriram. If you recall, P.C. and Mani together revolutionized the use of lighting and camera work in Tamil cinema once. Rumour also has it that the Big B will make a cameo. But let’s wait and see what develops – with this publicity shy director
nothing is confirmed until he confirms it.
