A.R. Rahman returned to Chennai after receiving the Golden Globe Award at the awards ceremony that was held in the Beverly Hills in the United States of America. It may be recalled that Rahman won the Best Composer award for the movie Slumdog Millionaire. Being the first Indian to be honored with the award, Rahman received rave accolades from all quarters. Rahman was given a rousing reception at the airport soon after he returned with the award. Film personalities such as Rajnikanth, Shankar, Abirami Ramanathan, Rama Narayanan and others were the first to extend their wishes to him. And it is now time to felicitate A.R. Rahman. The South Indian Film Musicians’ Association honored Rahman with a silk shawl in a ceremony held recently. Those who participated in the function are: the Associations’ chairman Sarangapani, the general secretary Abu Gabriel and office bearers V.R. Sekar, P.G. Venkatesh and Kalyanasundaram. It is learnt that another felicitation ceremony under the auspices of Chief Minister will be held soon. |
