Director Mani Ratnam is arguably one of the best directors in the country and actors would do anything to be a part of his films. But it takes more than just guts to walk out of a Mani Ratnam's project. Young Samantha has opted out of Kadal after shooting for a major part of the film. Mani Ratnam is now in search of another girl in place of Samantha.
The Baana Kathadi girl has in her kitty, Gautham Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham, Shankar’s next untitled project with Vikram, Venkat Prabhu’s Biriyani, and SS Rajamouli’s Naan Ee. This gutsy move of hers to opt out from Kadal, that too being a growing actress is the talk of the town.
