Queen appreciates Jodha Akbar

The audio release of the most awaited film of the year, Jodha Akbar, was a gala event held at Mumbai on Wednesday, 9th January 2008. The evening was, as expected, a star-studded affair with notable personalities from the film industry gracing the occasion.

A surprise guest at the event was Maharani Padmini, a descendant of the royal Rajuputani family, who was flown in with a few of her relatives by Ashutosh.

She addressed the gathering, which was indicative that the project progressed with her stamp of approval. She even praised Ashutosh for having recreated an important piece of history with impeccable authenticity, and added that, from the clips she got to see she could vouch that the director’s presentation of Rajput viewpoint regarding their links with the Mughals was executed without any distortion. With a Rajput queen approving a film that delves on their history and culture, it sure will increase the already spiking expectations surrounding it."
