Bollywood in awe of Murugadoss

Bollywood is amazed at the professionalism of director Murugadoss, who directed Aamir Khan and Asin in the Hindi version of Ghajini. The film was completed promptly in the stated time and within Rs. 30 crores, which is Rs. 10 crores less than the allocated budget! This, coupled with Aamir Khan’s appreciation of Murugadoss’s directorial skills, has made Murugadoss quite famous in Bollywood. All the leading heroes, including Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, badly want to get their films directed by him, meaning that Murugadoss is now in great demand in Bollywood. Producers and stars of Bollywood are even ready to pay him 7 to 8 crores!
But for Murugadoss, home is where his heart is. He is firm in his stand that he will get back to Bollywood only after directing a couple of Tamil films. The buzz in Kollywood is that he might direct Suriya, who had expressed a desire long ago that he is very eager to work with Murugadoss. This fabulous director is also said to have received a similar request from Vishal.
Hitherto, only heroines from the South planted their flags in Bollywood and the act was emulated only by few cameramen like Ravi K. Chandran and Manikandan, who are in great demand in Bollywood these days. Actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan dabbled with acting in Hindi films now and then, but did not make an impact as strong as they did in South. Even stalwarts like K. Balachander and Bhagyaraj, though recognized for their work, failed to rivet Bollywood’s attention like Murugadoss has done. It looks like Bollywood will be eternally enamoured with Murugadoss.
