AR Rahman and Shankar: Best Duo in Town

It's just seven days to go for the Oscars. Will he or won't he, is the question doing rounds in Kollywood? Can Rahman bring home Oscars seems to be the query everywhere.

But it looks evident with the hype that the 'Mozart of Madras' is inching closer towards the coveted trophy.

We have been chronicling the journey of Rahman towards the pinnacle of glory. Check out the magic weaved by Rahman in the company of director Shankar today.

The journey of success between Rahman and Shankar were almost parallel. Soon after Rahman made his beginning with Roja, he joined hands with Shankar for the latter's maiden venture 'Gentleman'. The songs set a new trend and soon the duo gone ahead to do films including 'Kadhalan', 'Indian', 'Jeans', 'Mudhalvan', 'Boys', 'Sivaji' and the under-production 'Endhiran'.

Thrilled at his association with Rahman, Shankar had always marveled at his dedication and hard work. He often referred to him as a hard working musician who never gives up until he comes out with convincing music.

Rahman, on his part was equally thrilled to work with Shankar. 'He is one of the best film-makers, who give more freedom for a musician. He extracts the best from his music composers and has a sound knowledge about music'.

The two have been working in tandem and promises to go several miles further.

With 'Endhiran', the sci-fi extravaganza of Shankar shaping up fast, Rahman might recreate the magic with mellifluous tunes for us one more time.
