3 idiots delay release of Ghajini

One such Lollapaloozas of perfectionism: Obviously, it's Aamir Khan who doesn't get convinced at an ease. Glimpse through his previous flicks; longer schedules of filming to get them perfectly spelled and Taare Zameen Par would be a precise illustration. Amole Gupta conceptualized the scintillating theme for the film and was assigned to direct. Catching view of canned shots for the first schedule, Aamir called off for Amole and started wielding megaphone by himself. Well, his plans didn't dash down hopes and perhaps has won him laurels across far-flung corners of the globe.
Well, after a special screening of Ghajini, Aamir had glimpsed certain aspects were to be corrected and insisted Director A.R. Murugadoss to reshoot them. Earlier, plans were to release the film for the occasion of Diwali while this rigid decision of Aamir may result in delayed release of Tamil remake with the same title. Murugadoss has planned to reshoot few scenes with accordance to Aamir's tastes. Nevertheless, it may take some time, since Aamir Khan is busy now shooting for 3 idiots with Kareena Kapoor. Buzzes are that it would take a month time for Aamir to get back for re-shooting.

Disney foray into film production in India

The Walt Disney Company (India) on Tuesday announced its plans to independently produce four live action films. These will include The 19th Step with Kamal Haasan and Asin, to be directed by Bharat Bala, andZokkomon with the Taare Zameen Par whiz-kid Darsheel Safari, to be directed by Satyajit Bhatkal.
It was Bhatkal who wrote The Spirit of Lagaan and directed Chale Chalo, the documentary on the making of Lagaan.
Mahesh Samat, managing director of the company, told The Hindu that this was in addition to its co-production arrangement with Yash Raj Films.
On the eve of the audio launch of the Disney-Yash Raj Films maiden co-production Roadside Romeo, the animation feature directed by Jugal Hansraj with voice by Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Mr. Samat said the company was collaborating with Yash Raj Films for one more animation film.
On Zokkomon, he said: “It’s a family film driven by a great story. We should be starting work on it by the end of this year.”
The 19th Step will be a lavish production with an Indo-Japanese cast. “This is an interesting film because it’s a multilingual which will primarily be in Tamil and it is one of those unique films that will potentially be a global film. It’s got some elements of martial arts. We are proud to be associated with Kamal Haasan and A.R. Rahman.”
Disney’s foray into film production in India has been triggered by the size of the market. Mr. Samat said: “With 3.6 billion movie admissions a year, it’s a remarkable figure. With the value of movie admissions going up from Rs.25 to Rs.80 in five years, we are talking about a $7 billion box office. Disney has a huge amount of expertise in telling stories and building a franchise around the characters.”
“We are about creating products that take the story beyond the story,” said Roshni Bakshi, regional director, Disney Consumer Products. A whole range of products that will take the Roadside Romeo franchise to the consumer will reach the retail market by mid-October, two weeks before the film’s Deepavali release.

Aamir Khan sees scope for improvement in 'Ghajini'

The hard-to-please superstar of Bollywood is reportedly unhappy with the way his upcoming film Ghajini (Hindi)has shaped up.

Aamir Khan is at it again. The movie for which he all but shaved his head has not met his expectations. ‘Ghajini’, directed by A Murugadoss, is complete and the director reportedly held a special screening of the film recently for Aamir.

If the buzz is to be believed, after watching the movie Aamir wasn’t very thrilled. His scrutinizing eyes singled out scenes which he believed needed to be re-shot. Respecting Aamir’s judgment, Murugadoss has reportedly decided to re-shoot some scenes.

The only problem is that Aamir is presently shooting Raju Hirani’s film 3 Idiots in which he has a different hairstyle than that of ‘Ghajini’. So Aamir won’t be able to reshoot for ‘Ghajini’ until he wraps up ‘3 Idiots’, which means at least a month.

Aamir is a star whose opinion is respected by peers in the industry. Recently, directorSanjay Gadhvi showed Aamir his movie Kidnap to get his opinion. Aamir gave thumbs-up to the film.

Though some industrywalas think Aamir crosses his line at times and interferes in a director’s work, most of the people who work with him (with the exception of a few with whom Aamir has had fallout) welcome suggestions or comments by the star. And after showing his prowess behind the camera in Taare Zameen Par , Aamir has only gained more respect in tinsel town.

We’re sure Murugadoss won’t mind re-shooting the said scenes if Aamir wishes it so. For Aamir is not just a director’s actor, he is an actor who is a terrific director as well.

Aamir’s not happy with Ghajini

Aamir Khan is a thorough perfectionist. And the actor is currently concentrating on Ghajini which is going to be his next release after Tare Zameen Par.

According to a unit hand, Ghajini is complete and therefore Murugadoss kept a special screening for Aamir. Apparently, after watching the film Aamirrealized that some scenes require changes and he has asked the director to re-shoot those.

The director, Murugadoss who trusts Aamir’s instincts has agreed to make changes. A unit hand informs that Aamir is currently busy shooting for 3 Idiots. Also, shooting for Ghajini will mean that Aamir will have to sport the hairstyle required in the film. However, Aamir is sporting short hair these days and will need at least a month-and-a-half to get back in the required hairstyle. Thus the star will be able to re-shoot for Ghajini only in October.

It can be recalled that Aamir’s last film Tare Zameen Par was supposed to be directed by Amol Gupte. However, after shooting some scenes Aamir realized that he himself should direct the film and took over the director’s baton. There were also rumours about Aamir being a ghost director for Jaane Tu ... Ya Jaane Na which was made under his home production.

We hope Murugadoss gets his directorial liberties this time!

Aamir Khan plans big 'Ghajini' push over internet

The internet is increasingly becoming the media favored by producers to promote their films and Aamir Khan, who has been a pioneer in the field, has drawn up ambitious plans for 'Ghajini', which is releasing on December 26.

September 1, 2008 (Sawf News)- The internet is increasingly becoming the media favored by producers to promote their films and Aamir Khan, who has been a pioneer in the field, has drawn up ambitious plans for Ghajini, which is releasing on December 26.

A very large percentage of box office collections come from multiplex audiences, young people who tend to be internet savvy. Producers are now realizing they can get more bang for their bucks through rich media ads served to young eyeballs surfing the net in the privacy of their rooms, as compared to exorbitantly priced TV ads blaring on sets in empty living rooms.

Some of the recent films aggressively promoted over the internet using social networking sites and YouTube include Vipul Shah produced Singh Is Kinng, Ritesh Sidhwani produced Rock On and Azam Khan produced Phoonk.

Some sources estimate Vipul Shah may have spent Rs 30 Lakhs to promote Singh Is Kinng over the internet, the highest so far.

Coincidently, all three films have done well at the box office with Phoonk having shocked critics with its success.

In the past, Aamir Khan has used the internet cleverly to create a buzz about his upcoming films, even though his methods have been dubious.

He would become very active on his blog shortly before the release of his film. Next, he would slip in a flaming post that was sure to catch media attention. The ensuing controversy and wildfire media attention would get him and his upcoming film more publicity than many crores spent on TV and print media ads!

Before the release of Taare Zameen Par (2007), Aamir stirred the proverbial hornets nest through some uncharitable criticism on his blog of the award winning film Black, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. More recently he put Shah Rukh Khan’s patience to test by alluding to him as a dog in a post before the release of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.

This time around Aamir is planning to play it clean, but be even more innovative. The Ghajini website is expected to feature a lot more interactivity and videos created specially for the internet.

Anyone who has seen the lavishly made Singh Is Kinng theatrical trailer over the internet will understand the logic of Aamir's approach. Video's made for the big screen look a lot less impressive when viewed on YouTube.

Aamir, we understand, plans to create a large number of low cost promotional videos shot especially for distribution over the internet. If what we hear is true, expect to see Ghajini promos on the thousands of Bollywood sites online today, at no additional airing cost to Ghajini producers. With TV promos you spend big buck making them and equally big bucks airing them. Internet videos have no associated airing costs.

Aamir is also planning a mobile version of the Ghajini site allowing multiplex audiences to view the promos not just over the internet but also over their cell phones.

It happens only with Aamir Khan!

Aamir Khan must be the only film personality of recent times whose every single release whether as an actor, director, producer or all of the three combined brings along clashes of some kind from the Bollywood industry people. It is being observed right from the release of his Dil (1990) which clashed with the action thriller Ghayal then followed by Lagaan (2001) which had a mighty opposition in the partition saga Gadar, Ek Prem Katha continued with Taare Zameen Par (2007) along with the comic caper Welcome and finally Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with Love Story 2050.

Firoz Nadiadwala producer of Welcome had sent feelers to Aamir to postpone the release of his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par so that it does not clash with his multi-starrer Welcome. But Aamir chose to ignore it. Then when just recently his produced Jaane Tu was nearing release, Love Story 2050 maker Harry Baweja went on to meet Aamir to request the postponing of his Jaane Tu so that his son, Aamir did not budge and went ahead to clash it with Love Story 2050. The result was there for everyone to see. While Jaane Tu captured the box office and audience’s hearts, Love Story 2050 was declared the biggest dud of 2008. Now its déjà vu again for Aamir as industry sources confirmed to us about Subhash Ghai sending feelers to Aamir to re arrange the release date of his Ghajini.

A source tells us, “Subhash Ghai’s Yuvraj starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Katrina Kaif was originally planned to release in the Diwali week, on October 24th. But then as its shooting got postponed thanks to Salman Khan and his 10 Ka Dum shooting, the release was pushed ahead further. Ghai then planned for a release around the 2009 Republic Day. But just a few days back Salman allotted his dates to Ghai to shoot his remaining portions in a few weeks time now. Because of this it became possible for him to wrap the project just in time for a year end release. So keeping 26th December as the release date, he had started his planning only to realize, Aamir’s Ghajini was slated for a release on 26th December. Yuvraj is Ghai’s most ambitious film to date and after a huge flop like Kisna his reputation is definitely at stake. He doesn’t want to take any chances with his film this time as last time Madhur Bhandarkar’s Page 3 released with his Kisna had completely overshadowed Kisna in all departments including the box office run. Now therefore he has started sending feelers to Aamir to either post pone or pre pone his Ghajini. Aamir it is learnt has still not given his reply on this matter yet and is very likely that he is not going to budge this time around too!”

However, sources close to Ghai have confirmed to us that if Aamir doesn’t go in for a shift in his Ghajini date then Yuvraj may get preponed for a November 21st release date.

It's Ghajini versus Alladin

The release date of Ghajini has been shifted yet again. Initially slated for October 2, the Aamir Khan starrer was shifted to November 28, a fortnight ago. But the release has been shifted yet again and this time, the date seems to be finalised, December 25, on Christmas Day.

Last year, Aamir's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par was released within the Christmas week (December 21) and now, Ghajini is set to follow suit.

Meanwhile, a screening of Ghajini was held a few days ago and those who watched the film couldn't control their excitement while discussing the movie with this writer.

Meanwhile, Sujoy Ghosh's Alladin has also been confirmed for the Christmas week. Accompanying it will be Aditya Chopra's SRK-starrer Rab Ne Bana Di JOdi arriving on December 12. The final month of 2008 will be one month to look forward to.

Disney buys N American rights for TZP

In a first of its kind deal, Walt Disney has bought home video rights of Taare Zameen Par for the North American market. This is the first time an international studio has bought the video rights of an Indian film.

Disney, which inked the deal with UTV Motion Pictures that holds the overseas rights of the Aamir Khan-starrer, paid Rs 7 crore for the video rights.

"Disney as a brand has association with family and children. They have seen Taare Zameen Par as content that has a brand fit. Also, the film is being seen as one of the classics of recent times. Despite it not being a conventional NRI fare, the film has done very well in the overseas market, especially in North America," said Siddharth Roy Kapoor of UTV Motion Pictures.

Taare Zameen Par was released in December 2007 and became a critical as well as commercial success. The film, starring Darsheel Safary and Aamir Khan, was hailed for its sensitivity and it grossed in the range of Rs 100 crore worldwide.

Disney had earlier entered into a co-production tie-up with Yash Raj Films to produce the animation venture Roadside Romeo . Sony has entered into a three-film co-production deal with PNC. Indian films obtained official remake rights of Italian Job .

Warner Bros is producing Akshay Kumar-starrer Chandni Chowk To China . Each of these deals are only facilitating industry to industry contact at various levels.

Jaane Tu’s release stressing out Aamir ‘perfectionist’ Khan

The ‘Mr Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan is completely stressed out these days, all thanks to the hectic promotional activities for his second home production ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’. Aamir for sure, being the doting uncle he is, is putting in all possible efforts to make his nephew Imran’s debut a success.

The tension is palpable, Aamir wrote in his blog: “Release time and the going gets really rough. I’m shooting to complete the last few days of work on Ghajini, and alongside working on the release of ‘Jaane Tu….” So many things to be done and such little time left. Oh God!

The poor soul has also fallen ill because of his jam packed schedules and hasn’t been finding time to do anything else. The actor mentioned his state in his blog: “Have also fallen ill. Extremely untimely but there it is. There is so much I have to share but I guess I’ll do that once I can breathe a little easy.”

But, Aamir, being what he is, work is still on top of his mind. The actor is hoping for a positive response to ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ and says “I’m awaiting keenly your response to ‘Jaane Tu…’ it’s the first film from my production house which I am not acting in, and I hope we’ve done ok”.

Here’s hoping that the audience is going to second Aamir’s faith in ‘Jaane Tu…’ by accepting it just the way they accepted ‘TZP’, in the meanwhile we have a suggestion for the actor- Hey Aamir… take it easy dude, the wait is almost over!

GHAJINI: Aamir's 'low waist' Western dance!

Though he may not be as flamboyant a dancer as a Hrithik Roshan or have the charisma of a Shah Rukh Khan or may be even the 'latkas' and 'jhatkas' of an Akshay Kumar, when it comes to dancing, Aamir Khan is one of the most accomplished and spontaneous dancers that the industry has ever produced. The proof of that is the immense popularity of his dance numbers right from DIL ("Khambe Jaisi Khadi Hai"), MANN ("Kaali Nagin Ke Jaisi"), GHULAM ("Aati Kya Khandala"), RANG DE BASANTI ("Masti Ki Paathshala") and the recent TAARE ZAMEEN PAR ("BUM BUM BOLE"), to name a few.

However his fans have missed seeing him in an out and out commercial, masala, Western dance number. But here is good news. Aamir Khan has shot for a Western style dance number for his upcoming flick, GHAJINI. The choreographer Ahmed Khan was all praise for Aamir's classy dancing skills and said that he was sure that the number would turn out to be chartbuster.

Aamir's sports an in-vogue, 'low-waist' jeans and tight fitting t-shirts, where his recently acquired well-toned body too will be highlighted! The perfectionist that Aamir Khan is, he worked really hard on his dance steps and gave such a rocking performance that he had the whole unit up in applause.

Well, we are already looking forward to GHAJINI and our expectations are now sky-high after hearing what Ahmed Khan has to say!

Working with Aamir is fantastic: Jiah

In a short span of less than two years, this sultry babe with an enchanting pout and lustrous locks has worked with bigwigs like Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan.

Actress Jiah Khan, who has now bagged Aamir Khan's prestigious project Ghajini, talks to NT about some of the things close to her heart.

We don't get to hear anything about you these days. What are you up to?

My entire energy and waking hours are dedicated to Ghajini these days. It is such an engrossing film that I don't even have the time to think about anything else. But I am not supposed to say anything else about the project.

There are rumours that you have chopped your lustrous locks for one of the forthcoming films on Shahid Kapur's advice...

No way! I will never do that unless a role really demands it. All these rumours are silly.

If you had to choose between Ramu and Aamir as your favourite director, whom would you choose?

(Giggles) This is a tough one! Each one is a genius in his own right and their techniques are quite distinctly different. So, both remain my favourites.

With your western upbringing and exotic looks, you are just right for the crossover projects. Why aren't you doing these?

I am doing a couple of such projects. The discussions are on, but till the time I actually sign these, it won't be appropriate to talk about them.

You were quite bowled over by Big B after Nishabd. Who are the other industry men who are hot according to you?

I haven't worked with many of them to comment on them. But yes, I find those who are not married, quite hot. Shahid for one, is a wonderful guy to work with.

You are doing quite a few stunts these days for your films. Is it because your role model Angelina Jolie also does her own stunts?

Yeah, maybe! Angelina's stunts are quite awe-inspiring. I also like the way she lives her life on her own terms and I admire her concern for children and animals.

Doesn't it scare you sometimes that you might get hurt?

It maybe scary at times but unless you do your own stunts, you can't convince the audience about the depth of your emotions on screen. So, you have to go for it. After all, it is for a cause.

Grapevine has it that you will be appearing in Dhoom:3. Are you ready to change your image for that?

It's not confirmed as yet. But, if it comes through and the role demands it, I don't mind changing my look completely.

One recent movie that you really liked...

Taare Zameen Par. There wasn't a single minute when I didn't cry during that movie. I felt completely drained out emotionally. And when the lights were switched on in the theatre, I saw that all the people had tears in their eyes.

And what do you have to say about Aamir Khan?

Meeting him and working with him is an experience in itself. As a director he's fantastic. I absorb any advice or input that he gives me. He's a wonderful person too.

Who's the lucky man in your life?

I am not very comfortable talking about my private life but I will say just one thing 'I am so happy these days'!

What about your singing aspirations? After all, you are a trained opera singer.

I play piano and sing and dance at home. But that's a very private thing. These things help me to destress.

GHAJINI steps back!!

There may be murmurs around the release date of GHAJINI being changed from 2nd October to a later day but our trade sources insist that there is no other option for the film but be postponed.

Says the source on condition of anonymity, 'There is no way how GHAJINI could make it to 2nd October. Ok, so it is a great time for release but then the film hasn't managed to make a kind of progress which would enable it to be ready for release on 2nd October. Aamir Khan has gone through quite a few accidents, minor as they may be, but all of that has adversely affected the film's progress.'

Is the competition getting too heavy on 2nd October?

'It would be laughable to insist that competition would make Aamir move his film to a later date', quips the trade expert, 'If GHAJINI was ready then it would have scared all the other film makers who are bringing their films on 2nd October and not Aamir Khan. Even when TAARE ZAMEEN PAR came alongside WELCOME, the latter didn't take it too lightly. It is a different matter that both the films turned out to be blockbusters but if one looks at the kind of budget TAARE ZAMEEN PAR was set in, the profit margins were huge.'

Coming back to GHAJINI, the source adds, 'DRONA, KIDNAP, WANTED - DEAD OR ALIVE - each of these films which are now sighting 2nd October - would have had to worry a lot more if GHAJINI was coming on the same day. However, now they have to worry a lot more about how they want to avoid clashing with each other. Believe me; even as GHAJINI is more or less out of the race, it is still not healthy for Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan to clash on the same day. May better sense prevail'

So what happens to GHAJINI then? When would it most likely release?

'I think this time around it is going to be a battle royal as Aamir and Shah Rukh may take each other hands on. Yes, it appears that GHAJINI is looking at arriving with SRK's RAB NE BANA DI JODI on 12th December', concludes the source.

Hindi Ghajini in October

Aamir Khan, who was injured during the shooting of his current project – the remake of Tamil film Ghajini – is recovering fast and will soon resume shooting.

Director Mr. Murugadoss, now in Chennai, stated that the film will be completed in three months and shall be released in October. He added that this will be a feast to Aamir Khan’s fan following, which has increased after Tare Zameen Par, not only in North, but also in Tamil Nadu. In Tare Zameen Par, Aamir played the role of an empathic and lovable teacher. In Ghajini, he plays the role of a man who has short-term memory loss. In Tamil, actor Suriya played this role and it won him a lot of accolades.

Asin is the female lead in the Hindi version too; she has spoken immaculate Hindi in her own voice. Music is by A.R. Rahman. All these factors are making the filmgoers of Tamil Nadu eagerly await this movie's release. Now at least they know their wait will end in October.

Southern beautyAsin, the female lead, has been in the news ever since she was signed for this movie. She swept everyone off their feet when she featured in “Close up” and “Mirinda” ads alongside Saif Ali Khan and Zayed Khan respectively.

Aamir Talks About ´Ghajini´ Climax And ´TZP´ DVD Release Plans

Actor Aamir Khan is now healty and kicking and shooting the climax of the upcoming 'Ghajini'. He gave the details of the same, while also talking about the 'Taare Zameen Par' DVD. Here is what he says on his blog :-
Climax proceeds well I am shooting with protective bands and straps to help support the injured muscle. Couple days back I developed some sort of an eye infection. My left eye had gone red and was hurting. Today I developed a nose bleed. I really need a break. My body is falling apart!!!

A lot of you have been asking about the DVD release of TZP. I know I am guilty of delaying on that one. But I’ve almost finished my director’s commentary. Another two-three days and it should be done. Last night I was in the recording studio till 1am, after shooting till 7pm. Tomorrow will be the same. But I promise it will be worth it. I’m trying my best, really want to make this special. DVD should be out sometime in the month of May. Promise.

Today I met my first set of bloggers, in Hyderabad. Ru-ba-ru. (face to face). It was really nice for me to see the eyes and hear the thoughts, put faces to names.

Aamir Khan plans theatrical teaser to launch nephew Imran Khan

Aamir Khan has thought of an innovative teaser theatrical trailer to promote and launch his nephew Imran Khan.

It is 2.5 minute trailer that takes a tongue-in-cheek dig at all star launches and all the hoopla over well toned muscular bodies. This includes him because of the news about his looks in Ghajini.

The trailer shows Imran Khan as a huge well toned muscular guy with all trimmings of a theatrical launch, only to reveal the real Imran Khan who is a boy next door as is his character in the film.

Khan Production's third production, after Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na is the launch vehicle of Imran Khan, Khan's nephew. Khan himself was launched in QSQT by Nasirsahib, who is Imran Khan's grandfather.

Khan has been taking very keen interest in the smallest details of the promotion of the film even though he is completely entrenched in shooting for a crucial portion of Ghajini in Hyderabad.

"Jaane Tu… as a film has a very young idiom, the language and the tone of the film is very tongue in cheek. We wanted the teaser to reflect the same irreverence in attitude", says Abbas Tyerwala, the director of the film.

A sneak preview: Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na

Aamir Khan back again to make a hat-trick as far his production is concerned after the success of Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par; both did well in box office. Lately Amir Khan Production has launched a sneak-peak from his upcoming film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ as producer featuring his nephew and debutant Imran Khan.

Though not much info of the storyline was revealed so far but ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ as the promos looks might be something in as usual fashion of Aamir who in his constant endeavour, trying to make meaningful movies.

Directed and written by Abbas Tyrewala the sound score has been goes to the credit of AR Rahman while introducing yet another newbie to Hindi films as Telegu actress Genelia in the role of leading lady. Aamir Khan and Naseeruddin Shah would also be seen doing cameos in the film.

Aamir Khan in his blog talking about Jaane Tu...says, “Abbas who has is an established writer having written films like Munna Bhai MBBS, Maqbool, and Main Hoon Na among others has done a great job as a director. While I was busy with TZP he was doing JT, and when I saw the completed film it was an excellent translation onto screen of the script, which for me is the most imp yardstick for any filmmaker”.

However Mansoor Khan, the well-known producer of Aamir’s debut movie ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, who was out of film circuit for several years, too came in this production knowing that his cousin Nauzhat’s son Imraan is making his debut in this film.

Aamir says in his blog: “Yes, I finally managed to lure Mansoor out of his hiding place. When I took over as director of TZP I needed a hands-on producer on Jaane Tu so I requested Mansoor. To his credit despite his reluctance he did not hesitate to step in. I would like to think it was because of me but I suspect it was because of Nasir Sahab. Both Mansoor and I know that Nasir Sahab would have wanted the two of us to stand by Imran at this important juncture in his career. So Mansoor makes a return, albeit as Producer”.

The film is expected to be released somewhere in the first week of July.

Genre: Romantic Comedy
Starring: Imran Khan, Genelia D'Souza, Manjari Fadnis, Ratna Pathak, Arbaaz Khan
Director: Abbas Tyrewala

Aamir on his injury and Jaane Tu.. Ya Jaane Na

As we told you just a few days ago, Aamir Khan was hurt filming for Ghajini, so much so that he had to go to the hospital. Reports were that he was going to have to take some time off, but "Mr. Perfectionist" that he is, he is all ready back to work. Aamir recently updated his blog with the story and also a bit about his new film for his company, Janne Tu... Ya Janne Na. Here are a few highlights from his blog post.

About his injury Aamir wrote, "By now y'all must have heard various accounts of my injury so I won't bore you with one more. Especially since there is no particularly death defying moment in it. It was quite a boring injury, no anecdotal value or excitement whatsoever. Roll camera, action, run into frame, grab heavy goon, slam him against wall, lift him and throw him against second wall, shout in pain, hop on one leg, wave arm to call for cut, limp off to nearest chair. End result is that I had injured the adductor muscle in my right thigh. Which in layman terms means my inner thigh. There have been many more exciting injuries I have received in my career but again let me spare you the gory details. Importantly I'm recovering well and have restarted shooting with muscle supports and belts."

About Janne Tu... Ya Janne Na, a film for his banner Aamir Khan Productions he didn't say much but did reveal a picture of his nephew Imraan Khan, who is debuting in the film. "In the meantime I am readying my self for my next release. Jaane Tu. When I say 'my' I mean Aamir Khan Productions'. After Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par this will be our third release and I am keen to complete a hat-trick. We completed our test screenings end of March, and Rahman has almost finished the background score. Today the first promo breaks on TV. It should be up on the website as well.

This will be the first film of my nephew Imran, I think I'll post a photo of him. Tell me what you think of the promo, and him.

Jaane Tu is the debut not only of Imran but also Abbas Tyrewala who has written and directed the film. Abbas who has is an established writer having written films like Munna Bhai MBBS, Maqbool, and Main Hoon Na among others has done a great job as a director. While I was busy with TZP he was doing JT, and when I saw the completed film it was an excellent translation onto screen of the script, which for me is the most imp yardstick for any filmmaker."

Janne Tu... Ya Janne Na, or JT as Aamir calls it, is scheduled for release on July 4th of this year!

Aamir puts 'Ghajini' on backburner

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has rescheduled the shooting of his upcoming film 'Ghajini' to concentrate on his home production `Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na,' where he introduces his nephew Imran Khan.

According to sources close to the actor, Aamir, who has given himself a new bald look for 'Ghajini', feels it is payback time for him because veteran filmmaker Nasir Hussain, who is the actor's uncle, had launched him in 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' in 1988.

Imran is Hussain's grandson and now Aamir is working equally hard to give a break to him in his third home production after 'Lagaan' and 'Taare Zameen Par'.

The actor has just shot Imran in a special promo for Jaane... with Abbas Tyrewala, who makes his directorial debut with this film.

The concept promo was Aamir's brainchild and has been shot over 10 days. The actor personally supervised all aspects of this shooting, even if it meant putting his own 'Ghajini' on a backburner, as the film's shooting had to be stalled and schedules reworked.
