Ghajini running House Full

The much awaited Ghajini released yesterday and critics all over have ripped the film apart. But it doesn’t look like Aamir Khan needs to worry. The actor’s film is sold out all over cinemas for the coming week. Theatres in the suburbs of Mumbai and across India saw advance bookings at an all time high.

“With the Christmas holidays plus the marketing of the film resulted in a huge advance booking. We have had immense group bookings for the coming weekend. There is more then 80% booking which is higher than Singh is Kinng and we are expecting that it will grow even more on Sunday,” says an official from Fun Cinemas.

PVR cinemas, who have tied up with Ghajini are estimating business that will run into crores.

A spokesperson from PVR cinemas says,” From the day of release audiences are coming to watch Ghajini and we are estimating that including the next few days the film will do business of 12 to 15 crores in Mumbai. The exact numbers of all across India will be known only on Monday. But it will be good time for us as theatres are once again going house full after the Mumbai attacks.”

Things are quickly at single screen theatres. “Sablog phone karke pucha rahe hain ki kya Ghajini ke tickets hai. The morning shows of Saturday are available while the evening shows for both Saturdays and Sundays are sold out,” informs the official at Gaiety cinema in suburban Mumbai.

The earliest tickets are available for Ghajini at Fun Cinemas, Andheri is for Monday, December 29th and that too for the late night 11.30pm show. In central Mumbai, shows in Kanjurmarg are house full. Single screen halls like Delite in Delhi while Eros and Chitra in Mumbai are also completely sold out for the weekend.

The big question now is that will Ghajini cross Yash Raj Films’ Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi which is said to have raked in 60 crores already.
