Was Jodha Bai a maid servant?

There are many controversies raging around Ashutosh Gowarikar's use of word Jodha in Jodha Akbar. Given that the actual mother of Akbar's son Salim-Jahangir was named Miriam Zamani whose mosque is in Pakistan (see image), many have accused Gowarikar and Ronnie Screwvala (the producers) of revisionist political propoganda saying the movie should have been named Miriam - Akbar. A number of historians have of course openly dismissed that there ever was any Jodha Bai.

But generally, it is argued by proponents of Jodha Akbar that this Jodha Bai was daughter of one Raja Bharmal, who was turned over by her father to be in the Muslim king Akbar's harem.

Now however, one of the new objections that have been brought around is that Bharmal actually gave Akbar his maidservant in the name of his daughter, and the name of this maidservant was Hira Kunwari the alleged 'Jodha Bai'.

Given that there is no evidence of any Jodha Bai in historical documents, needless to say, all sorts of other issues will be brought up. So this is one fictional 'Bai', who one way or the other is going to be cleaning out enough dishes for media to go around for weeks to come.
