Aamir needs time to get back in shape

With Taare Zameen Par and the yet-untitled Ghajini remake getting delayed the actor has more time to work out his 6-pack abs

Fitter by the minute: Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan has already achieved his six-pack abs and is now working on a tighter and sharper physique to go with his bald look in the yet-untitled Ghajini remake.

Says a source, “The shooting of the Ghajini remake is on, Aamir’s bald look and bare-bodied shoot has been postponed to March-end because perfectionist that he is, Aamir wants to get into a more defined shape.”

On a break

Aamir’s trainer Satyajit Chourasia says, “Aamir has started working out from January this year after taking rest for 10 days. So he missed out on almost a month of workouts. Now with the shoot getting delayed, he said it would give him time to work out better and get back into shape.”

“During the time Aamir didn’t work out, he didn’t put on weight as he was working very hard day and night. During shooting, Aamir would work out at least five days a week for two and a half hours but now he is working out for four hours every day. He’s very disciplined and has maintained his diet regime,” continues the trainer.

Early to bed

Currently, Aamir is working on muscle maturity for his bare-bodied shoot. Says Satyajit, “Aamir says that he will work on his body so hard that tomorrow will people will buy tickets to see his physique. Aamir has cut down on his carbs to increase the body sharpness, increased the protein intake and is getting more rest. At this level, Aamir needs to get at least nine hours of sleep, so he’s going to sleep early now at night.”

Satya says they are combining professional and conventional training to achieve the next level. “Apart from the sharpness, you will now be able to see the veins as the skin becomes thin. This is known as muscle maturity fibre giving shape to a tighter, sharper body. Apart from his diet, Aamir does cardio, stomach exercises, stretches and weight training.”

WHAT'S IN AAMIR'S GYM?

Aamir’s gym, which is spread over 1000 ft and two garages, is complete. “Today he has all the equipment required for all the body parts. Aamir ne dil khol ke spend kiya and the gym costs over 55 lakh. We have installed imported machinery which includes Tuffstuff’s Powercage, a cable cross-over, a four-liner bench, squat machine, leg extensions and a leg curl machine that has a dual function, apart from the treadmill and lots of weights. We have dumbbells and weights weighing from 0-80 pounds. Currently Aamir is doing heavy weights for his back.”
