Case against Jodha... in Patna court

The protest against Hindi film Jodha Akbar, to be released nationwide on Friday next, reached here and a case has been filed to stop the release of the movie directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. On Tuesday, one Thakur Devendra Singh, claiming president of Bihar State Chhatriya Mahasabha, filed a case in the court of the CJM, Patna.

In the petition filed through his pleader V P Mishra, Singh said the film was a distortion of history and an insult on the Rajput community. Quoting history, he said in the harem of emperor Akbar, there was no woman called Jodha among 5,000 women. He claimed it was an attempt to publicise a historically incorrect incident and mislead the people which was a cognizable offence.

Singh said, in the portal of the film, it has been claimed that it was a romance between two different cultures.
