Chennai Sangamam in China

The Chennai Sangamam Festival took place in January and February in Chennai, then it went to China as well, where it was a grand success. The festival showcased everything about Chennai and Tamil culture. People in China got an idea of how rich Chennai culture is. It made them curious about this city, which is the perfect mixture of traditions, culture, and modernity.

Yesterday, a function was held to celebrate this and to release a DVD which comprised details and footage (of the troupe’s performance in China as well) of folk dances of Tamil Nadu. The DVD is named “Ey Aa O!” This DVD not only focuses on the folk and traditional arts of Tamil Nadu, it showcases folk arts from different parts of India.

Rajya Sabha M.P. Kanimozhi and music director A.R. Rahman presided over this function. The first copy of this DVD was released by A.R. Rahman and received by Kanimozhi.
